This upcoming weekend (Friday 18th and Saturday 19th) Debra’s, Club One and Xavier O Presents bring you The Official Launch Party Weekend of GetOutLB.com, Long Beach’s Premier Online Community Magazine, which will take place at Club Ripples.

Club Ripples is one of the few beach clubs left in the state of California and it has been serving the community since its opening in the 1970s. This two-story club is conveniently located across from the Belmont Shore beach and just miles away from the famous restaurants and shops of 2nd Street. Club Ripples is the biggest club in Long Beach with two full bars, two dance floors, a lounge area, an outside patio and lots of free parking across the street by the beach.

There is always something happening at Ripples, especially on the weekends. Every Friday night, Debra’s hosts her famous “Girl night” where lots of women come to the beach to party and have a good time. Saturday nights are more men-oriented with their famous nights: Club One, La Playa and Bear Bar.

Toys for Tots @ The Silver Fox

Last Sunday, December 6th, The Silver Fox held its annual “Toys for Tots” event in conjunction with the Long Beach Fire Department. The admission to this event was an unwrapped gift for a child or teen. Once the event was over, The Long Beach Fire Department was in charge of determining and distributing the toys to the children or teens of families in need who otherwise would not be able to receive a gift during the holiday season. This is one of the Silver Fox’s biggest events of the year in which many sectors of the Long Beach community come together for this great cause.

On this night, The Silver Fox’s bar and patio are transformed into a winter wonderland with lots of Christmas trees, lights and decorations. One of the biggest attractions for this event is the “Sexy Santa,” a sexy young man wearing a very sexy Santa outfit (Santa hat and red underwear), who poses with the patrons as they sit on his lap and take pictures with him. In addition to the eye candy, The Silver Fox also provides a delicious, free-of-charge Christmas meal for everyone in attendance. This year, Tod Wheeler also played the piano and provided Christmas tunes that got everyone into the holiday spirit, while two very tall and fabulous drag queens worked the crowd with their sass and posed for the lens.

Although this year’s attendance was a bit lower than previous years, this did not affect the generosity of the community. Proof of this was the section where all the toys were placed—there were so many of them everywhere, the alley was packed with presents. Inside the bar, the holiday spirit was felt as many ate, drank, laughed and enjoyed the company of everyone. Mike Giannone, a Silver Fox regular commented, “It’s an event I look forward to all year long. It’s a wonderful start to the holidays. It’s great to be spending it with friends while supporting a great cause.” There is no doubt this event was a success once again. In the name of the community, the GetOutLB.com team thanks the Silver Fox for once again making a change in the community.

The Silver Fox is located at 411 Redondo Ave. in Long Beach. For more information, call (562) 439-6343 or visit www.silverfoxlongbeach.com
